I (heart) Rascal Flatts...

One of my favorite country bands is Rascal Flatts... My sister and I have been listening to them for years!!  Over the years, we've been able to go to a few of their concerts, and every time we've had such a fun time!  They always put on a great show!  So, when we found out that Rascal Flatts were going to be performing in Detroit a week after I arrived in the States, my sister and I jumped at the chance to buy tickets!!  And what an outstanding concert it turned out to be!!  :)  We went with a great group of friends, the weather was perfect, and the concert was wonderful!!  Once again, Rascal Flatts outdid themselves! :) I'm already looking forward to the next time I get to see them perform!! :)

 Our Rascal Flatts crew... :)

Kory and Rachel enjoying the show...

It was a sold out concert, so the place was packed!!

Kory and I managed to work our way towards the stage during the show, and we managed to score some great "seats"!! :)

Summertime in Northern Michigan....

The weekend after we arrived in the U.S., we headed up north to take advantage of a typical northern Michigan summer... We spent the weekend hanging out with family and friends, soaking up the beautiful weather, strolling along the beach in Ludington, grilling out, swimming in our pool, watching my brother's baseball games, and just enjoying the feeling of being home. It was such a fun weekend, and a great way to get ourselves reacquainted with life in the U.S. !! :)

Enjoying a day at the beach with my hubby! :)

Me and my mom! :)

Kaden was clearly excited to be at the beach that day! :)

The Moore ladies... :)

Me and my sis... :)

After the beach, we headed to the playground... Yep, that's me playing on the steps. I just wanted to prove that you're never too old to play on the playground! :)

Heading for some ice cream at House of Flavors, while playing Kaden's favorite game of "1, 2, 3, Jump!" :)

Kaden was sporting the "raccoon" look here... Shortly before this was taken, I was chasing him around the playground, and he ran right smack dab into a bridge that was part of the play area... Ooops! :) Needless to say, Aunt Kristin felt very bad about that incident!!

Some crazy clouds that rolled in right before it stormed that night...

Look at him go!! :)
Watching Jason at one of his games...

Nice form! :)

Kaden wanted to practice too!! So, after the game, we had ourselves a mini game of softball. :)

My New Toy...

We've managed to get alot accomplished since we've been home, but I think my favorite thing has been buying this...

Yep, that's my new "toy"... Isn't she pretty?! :)

It's a little Volkswagon Golf TDI (of course we got a VW... The Germans are very close to my heart! :))... It's a manual transmission, it gets awesome gas mileage, and it's super "peppy" and fun to drive!! I absolutely love it!!

And, I have to admit... It's so much fun to drive, that I look for any excuse in the book just to take it out for a spin! :)

A Great Big Welcome...

Before I get started on what we've been up to since we returned to the U.S., let me share with you our arrival into the U.S.

On the day that we left Germany, we were taken to the airport in Zurich by our dear friend, Denise... (We'll never be able to express how much we appreciated you taking us to the airport that day, Denise!! Thank you so very much!! :)) We checked in, said our goodbyes (that was definitely the hardest part!!), and were ready to begin our new adventure... The plan was that we were leaving Zurich around 2, arriving in Amsterdam around 4, and then hauling ourselves to the appropriate terminal so that we could head to the U.S. around 5, which meant that we would land in Detroit around 7 p.m.... Well, at least that's what our plan was supposed to be. However, upon our arrival in Amsterdam, we were informed that our one hour layover had turned into 7 hours... Grrrr!! I think the most frustrating part of the whole experience, was that we were stranded in our all-time favorite European city, but we were stuck inside the airport and couldn't truly enjoy it! :(

We somehow managed to waste away 7 hours, and before we knew it, we were on the plane headed to Detroit. We landed in Detroit around 2 a.m., and as we walked out of the gates, we were greeted by the sweetest sight... My parents had driven 4 hours down to Detroit just to be there to greet us at the airport upon our arrival. :) And, to make the moment even better, they had brought along my little nephew, who was wide awake and anxious for us to arrive!! As we walked through the gates, this was the sight we were met with....

We couldn't have asked for a better homecoming! :)

Sit Back, Relax, and Enjoy the Ride...

Well, it's official... We're baaaack!! :)

Yep, we arrived back in the U.S. 5 weeks ago today... And, in those five weeks, we have managed to pack in ALOT!! Between trying to get our house back into tip top shape, visiting friends and family, getting reacquainted with our old stomping grounds, job searching, and just trying to readjust to life back in the States, we've been keeping ourselves quite busy. And, now that we're starting to feel a little bit more settled and we're falling into a bit more of a routine, I started getting the itch to return to the blogging world. (You didn't think I'd stop blogging just because we moved back now, did you?! :)) And, with the beginning of a new life here in the U.S., I decided that it was time for a new blog as well...

So, welcome to our new blog... The Chaotic Ramblings of a Former Haus Frau!! And, just as the title states, there is really no rhyme or reason to any of my postings... Here you'll find stories about what it's been like for us to repatriate back into the States, our misadventures when it comes to home improvement, and just our general day-to-day lives... Now, it won't be nearly as exciting as my blog about our life in Germany, but I do promise to make it somewhat interesting. :) You may not have pictures of beautiful castles, cathedrals, and European buildings, but you'll most likely find some photos of our house (exciting, huh?! :)), and our family and friends, and some of the travels we'll hopefully get to embark on (and I'm thinking the first travel post might be Chicago related... Shocking, huh?! :))... And, no worries, if you ever get to the point where you start missing our stories/travels from Germany too much, all you have to do is click on the link to the right of this page, and it'll take you right back to my blog that contains all of the fun we had during our three years in Deutschland! :)
So, with that being said, I hope you'll all join us as we embark on our newest journey... Here's to our American adventure! :)
